About the Field Service Engineer Job

The Field Service Engineer Job focuses on providing installation, maintenance, repair, and customer training services for TOMRA’s advanced food sorting systems.

You will be the face of TOMRA in the field, helping clients optimize their equipment and maximize performance while ensuring safe and reliable operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and test TOMRA machines at customer sites.
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, electronic, and optical tuning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance for seasonal and ongoing performance.
  • Train customers on machine operation and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and sales teams for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate service records and report customer feedback.
  • Promote a “Safety First” culture across all projects.

Requirements

To succeed in this Field Service Engineer Job, you should have:

  • Associate’s degree in electrical, electronic, mechanical, mechatronics, or similar field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of field service and customer support experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics, circuits, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in PC building, diagnostics, and software installation.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Ability to read schematics and use test equipment (oscilloscopes, voltmeters, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time, including weekends/holidays.
  • Valid passport and driver’s license.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay Range: $27–$39/hr (depending on experience and location).
  • Benefits: 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision premiums.
  • PTO: 31 days annually, increasing with seniority.
